When I was a young child, I remember going to Gettysburg National Military Park for the first time. I recall seeing a man on horseback dressed as a Union cavalry officer. I thought to myself, wow, what a cool job that person has. Today, I am an interpretive guide for a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
I have always had a lifelong passion for history. I graduated in 1984 from the University of Michigan with a BA in History. I am a historian, a writer, an educator, and an interpretive guide. The purpose of this blog is to share that passion not only for history itself but the art and science of doing the historian's craft.
